1. Introduction
Zippy ("Zippy," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") is developed and operated by Mykola Bilyk, an independent developer ("Developer"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the very limited circumstances in which any information leaves your device. By downloading or using Zippy, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about your data, contact us atsupport@tryzippy.app.
2. Summary
Zippy is designed to work entirely on your device. In short:
- We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any registration data.
- All of your personal data — including your profile details, fasting history, meals, weight, water intake, steps, and body measurements — is stored locally on your device only, and is not transmitted to our servers, because we do not operate any servers that store this data.
- We do not use advertising SDKs and do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not currently use any analytics or crash-reporting tools. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly before the change takes effect.
- Two limited third-party services are used, described in detail below: RevenueCat (subscription processing) and Google Gemini (optional meal-photo recognition).
- We do not use Apple HealthKit and do not read or write any data to the Health app.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
When you use Zippy, the App creates and stores the following categories of information locally on your device, using on-device storage (SQLite). This information never leaves your device except as described in Section 4 below:
- Profile information you enter, such as age, gender, height, weight, target weight, activity level, goals, and health-related answers you provide to personalize your plan (e.g., general health concerns you select from a list).
- Fasting activity, including fasting sessions, start/end times, and your selected fasting plan and schedule.
- Nutrition data, including meals you log, calories, and macronutrients (protein, fat, carbs, fiber).
- Health metrics you choose to log, such as water intake, steps, and body weight over time.
- Optional body measurements (e.g., chest, waist, hips, thigh) and optional blood glucose/ketone readings you manually enter.
- App preferences, such as language and units of measurement.
Because this data is stored only on your device, we (the Developer) do not have access to it, cannot see it, and cannot recover it if you delete the App or lose your device. Deleting the App permanently deletes this locally stored data, unless it is included in your device's own iCloud/iTunes backup, which is controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by us.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
4.1 Meal Photo Recognition (Google Gemini)
If you choose to use the meal-photo recognition feature, the photo of your food is sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis (for example, to identify the dish and estimate its nutritional content).
- Photos sent for analysis are not linked to your name, email, account, or any other identifying information — we do not attach any user identifier to the request.
- We do not store copies of your meal photos on any server we control, and we do not retain them after the analysis is returned to your device.
- The resulting nutrition estimate is stored locally on your device as described in Section 3.
- This feature is optional; you can log meals manually without sending any photo.
- Processing of the photo by Google is subject to Google's own privacy policy, available athttps://policies.google.com/privacy. We encourage you to review it, particularly if your food photos may incidentally include people, surroundings, or other identifiable content.
4.2 Subscription Processing (RevenueCat)
Zippy uses RevenueCat, a third-party service, to manage and validate in-app subscription purchases made through the Apple App Store. RevenueCat may process information such as your anonymized purchase and subscription status, device/app identifiers, and receipt data necessary to verify your subscription. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment details — those are handled directly by Apple. RevenueCat's privacy practices are described athttps://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
4.3 Apple App Store
All purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple processes your payment information, billing details, and purchase history in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy, available athttps://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. We do not have access to your payment card details or Apple ID credentials.
4.4 Notifications
Zippy uses local, on-device notifications to remind you about your fasting schedule and other in-app reminders. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device using Apple's notification framework. No notification content or scheduling data is sent to us or to any third party.
5. Analytics and Advertising
Zippy does not currently integrate any analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs. We do not track your behavior across other apps or websites, and we do not display third-party advertisements within the App. Should we introduce analytics or advertising in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law or Apple's guidelines, request your consent (for example, via the App Tracking Transparency framework) before doing so.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We do not have servers that store your personal profile, fasting, or nutrition data, so there is nothing of that kind for us to share. The only data that leaves your device is described in Section 4 (meal photos sent to Google Gemini for analysis, and limited purchase data sent to RevenueCat/Apple to validate subscriptions). We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, to the extent we possess any such information.
7. Data Security
Because your personal data is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, its security depends significantly on the security of your device (e.g., passcode, biometric lock, and iOS system security). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a passcode or biometric lock. Communication with third-party services described in Section 4 occurs over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and deletion: Since your data is stored locally, you can view and edit most of it directly within the App. Deleting the App from your device deletes this locally stored data (subject to any device-level backups you have configured, which are outside of our control).
- Meal photos: You can avoid sending any photo to Google Gemini by entering meals manually instead of using photo recognition.
- Notifications: You can disable notifications at any time via your device's Settings app.
- Subscription data: Requests regarding data held by Apple or RevenueCat should be directed to those companies via their own privacy channels linked above.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction that grants you specific data protection rights, you may contact us atsupport@tryzippy.app with any request, and we will respond to the extent we hold any information relevant to that request.
9. Children's Privacy
Zippy is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Zippy also involves general wellness and fasting-related content intended for healthy adults; if you are under 18, please use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us atsupport@tryzippy.app so we can address it.
10. International Data Processing
Because most of your data never leaves your device, international data transfer is minimal. Where data is transmitted to third parties as described in Section 4 (Google, RevenueCat, Apple), those companies may process data on servers located in various countries, including the United States, in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable safeguards.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact us at support@tryzippy.app.
